You can also check out my other projects there as I post updates / prototypes. ![]() I've created a Discord where you can reach me personally to discuss ideas for mechanics, levels, or even to just report a bug. I hope this process can integrate your feedback as much as possible. Currently, I hope to release the Level Editor in August with version 0.3 (this is 0.2.0 right now)! But don't worry, I'll also be creating more main set levels as well, albeit a quicker pace since I can also utilize the level editor. Train Your Minibot is a puzzle platformer and as much as I know level content is important, the most important thing for this community will be the ability to create your own levels and share them on the Steam Workshop. You can read my proposed roadmap here on Trello to see my current timeline up to Full Release in December 2021. However, I'm not a fan of games sitting in Early Access for years and therefore am promising that Train Your Minibot will be here only as long as you guys feel it needs to mature into a full release. Train Your Minibot is to the point now that I'm proud to put it on Steam and start receiving the communities' feedback on how to improve and progress the game forward to a full release. This project has been off and on for the past few years as I've debated when I wanted to take the large step into releasing my first paid game. Let me introduce myself I'm Sky and I'm the solo developer that created Train Your Minibot. The current plan is to have a total of 14 tracks by full release! This update brings the soundtrack up to 6 total tracks with a total runtime of 16 minutes. Lastly I'm excited to say that three new tracks have been added to the soundtrack by Train Your Minibot's OST team, the amazing composer Joshua Hunt (Composer) and Jordan Barillaro (Mixing/Mastering). As well there is a tutorial prompt about this while playing for anyone that still finds it too fast or too slow. It seems a lot of players have much higher DPI settings than I personally use, so I've adjusted the default to match more of the playerbase initially (this can still be changed in the Pause settings while playing). Then moving forward will have prompts giving some guidance on a few of the different obstacles as they appear in the levels.Īs well I've adjusted the defaults for the mouse sensitivities and the level of camera zoom when controlling the minibot. So I've added in new pop-up prompts that will instruct the user of the controls in the first level. I've noticed from watching let's play YouTube videos that some players were confused about the game's controls or how to handle specific obstacles/mechanics. New Sensitivity & Minibot Zoom Defaults. So moving forward all the built-in official levels will also be designed using this level editor so I should be able to get new levels for everyone to play with a shorter turn-around time.Īnd to kick off the Community Levels I've uploaded the first physics defying level aptly named "CrazyPhysics". This is obviously a major update for the game as it greatly expands the possibilities as it allows for more unrealistic levels that don't fit the game's theme (such as fun physics defying obstacles or full room exploration levels), but also these are the types of features that ensure the game can always continue to have new content.Īs well, the previous workflow for building levels in the Unity IDE was actually a lot more tedious than it is to build in this new level editor. This is a pretty big update for Train Your Minibot and I'm super happy to announce that it includes a new custom level editor for anyone to design, play, and share their own levels to the community.
